ABM® marine hydrophobic rock wool delivers a water repellency of at least 99% and maintains a moisture content below 1%. Water uptake stays extremely low—≤0.5 kg/m² after 24 hours and ≤2.0 kg/m² after 28 days of partial immersion. Even after exposure to strong water pressure, it dries without performance loss and retains its original shape without swelling or distortion.

ABM® marine rock wool consists of highly porous, interconnected fibers. Sound energy is converted into heat through fiber vibration and friction, significantly reducing reflection and transmission of sound waves, providing a quiet and undisturbed environment for work and living.

This insulation contains no asbestos. The WHO’s IARC has confirmed rock wool is not categorized as a potential carcinogen. Its aqueous extract is neutral to mildly alkaline, ensuring it does not corrode adjacent materials. ABM® marine rock wool is free of CFCs, HCFCs, and HFCs and is fully ozone-friendly, supporting environmentally responsible construction.

The open-cell fiber structure promotes outstanding vapor diffusion and natural drying. Moisture can travel through the material easily, helping prevent condensation buildup and reducing the risk of mold formation.

ABM® marine rock wool uses fine fibers averaging 5 μm—exceeding national specifications—and contains roughly 5% slag, well below standard limits. This refined composition enables very low thermal conductivity, delivering excellent thermal insulation even under demanding conditions.
