Marine Rock Wool Pipe for High-Temperature Pipe Insulation

ABM® Marine Rock Wool features exceptional water-repellent performance, with a repellency rate of 99% or higher and moisture uptake not exceeding 1% by weight. In short-term tests (24-hour partial immersion), water absorption remains under 0.5 kg/m², while long-term exposure (28 days partial immersion) results in ≤2.0 kg/m² absorption. The material maintains its shape and performance even after drying following high-pressure water exposure, showing no swelling or deformation.

ABM® Marine Rock Wool consists of densely interlaced fibers forming a porous, interconnected structure. Vibrations and friction between fibers convert sound energy into heat, significantly reducing sound reflection and transmission, creating a quiet and comfortable environment for work and living.

The product contains no asbestos. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), under the World Health Organization, has removed rock wool from the list of “possible carcinogens.” Its aqueous extract is neutral or weakly alkaline, causing no damage or corrosion to contacted materials. It is free of CFCs, HCFCs, and HFCs, and does not harm the ozone layer.

Thanks to its open and porous fibrous structure, ABM® Rock Wool allows air and water vapor to circulate freely. This ensures efficient moisture evaporation, minimizing condensation and preventing mold formation.

ABM® Marine Rock Wool fibers are slender, with an average diameter of 5 μm—better than the national standard requirement of ≤7 μm. With a low slag content of about 5% (well below the ≤10% limit), it provides low thermal conductivity and excellent insulation performance.

Over its entire life cycle, ABM® Marine Rock Wool saves more than 100 times the energy consumed during production, transportation, and recycling.
