ABM® Marine Water-Repellent Rock Wool has a water repellency rate of ≥99%; mass moisture absorption ≤1%; short-term water absorption (partial immersion for 24h) ≤0.5 kg/m²; long-term water absorption (partial immersion for 28 days) ≤2.0 kg/m². Even if the product is soaked under high pressure, it retains its performance after drying without swelling or deformation.

ABM® Marine Rock Wool features a highly porous and interconnected fiber structure. Through fiber vibration and friction, sound energy is converted into heat, significantly reducing sound reflection and transmission—creating a quiet and comfortable working and living environment.

The product contains no asbestos. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization has removed rock wool from the list of “possible carcinogens.” Its water extract is neutral or weakly alkaline, causing no damage or corrosion to contacted materials. It is free of CFCs, HCFCs, and HFCs, and therefore does not harm the ozone layer.

The open, porous fiber structure provides excellent breathability and self-drying capability. Water vapor can pass freely through rock wool products, effectively reducing condensation and preventing mold growth.

ABM® Marine Rock Wool fibers are slender, with an average diameter of 5 μm—better than the national standard requirement of ≤7 μm. With a low slag content of about 5% (well below the ≤10% limit), it offers low thermal conductivity and outstanding insulation performance.

Throughout its life cycle, ABM® Marine Rock Wool saves over 100 times more energy during use than is consumed in its production, transportation, and recycling processes combined.
