Shanghai ABM Rock Wool Co., Ltd., founded in 1986, is a leading Chinese manufacturer specializing in the research, development, production, and sales of rock wool insulation materials. With a strong commitment to continuous innovation, the company holds over 30 groundbreaking invention patents and has contributed to the drafting of more than 20 national and industry standards, consistently leading the technological advancement of China's insulation materials industry.

Backed by 39 years of meticulous manufacturing experience, ABM® operates two world-class fully automated rock wool production lines with an annual production capacity of 70,000 tons. Its products are exported to more than 40 countries and regions worldwide. Under the brands "ABM®" and "UPuper®", the company’s solutions are widely used in various fields including construction, industry, shipbuilding, water storage, and plantation. ABM®provides safe, reliable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly fire protection, insulation, and acoustic system solutions to mid- and high-end customers globally.

The company actively promotes green manufacturing and has established an eco-friendly factory that achieves zero solid waste, zero wastewater, and zero exhaust gas emissions. ABM®has obtained numerous international certifications, including FM and UL from the United States, GOST and FSC from Russia, as well as marine certifications such as CCS, ABS, NK, KR, MED, and MER. ABM History

1986
Mineral wool workshop established with complete production line imported from Japan’s Nitto Boseki Co., Ltd. Key personnel underwent technical and production training in Japan.
1989
Company officially founded. Mineral wool production line fully completed and operational.
1998
Achieved ISO 9000 Quality Management System certification.
1999

Successful registration of the "YingHua^®" and "ABM^®" brands.

Developed core materials for color steel sandwich panels and indoor purification boards.

First generation of hydroponics rock wool cultivation substrates introduced.
2000
Collaborated with U.S.-based Dryvit to compile Architectural Structures for External Wall Insulation and Waterproofing Systems, and jointly completed China’s pioneering thin-layer external wall insulation demonstration building.
2002

Independently developed China’s first integrated rock wool production line featuring drum-type high-speed fiber collection, pendulum layering, and folding processes.

Entered overseas markets, achieving 60% export rate.
2004
Pioneered the application of rock wool in flexible rolled roofing systems in China.
2005
Launched upgraded second-generation soilless rock wool substrates.
2006

Applied rock wool in high-rise external wall insulation for Shanghai’s premium residential district "Black Forest" — a first in China.

Developed low-chlorine, low-fluorine products.
2007
Developed rock wool boards compliant with European standards for thin-layer external wall insulation systems, with large-volume exports to Europe.
2008

Developed fireproof sealing rock wool for curtain walls.
2009

Obtained CE certification.

"YingHua^®" rock wool awarded Shanghai’s "Famous and High-Quality Building Materials" title.
2010

Developed SafeCurtain® lightweight rock wool insulation system for dry-hung curtain walls.

Began large-scale application of rock wool in external wall insulation and led the drafting of relevant China’s national standards.
2011

Shanghai ABM Rock Wool Dafeng Co., Ltd is established with full capital investment from Shanghai ABM Rock Wool Co., Ltd.

Passed A60 bulkhead and deck fireproof rock wool tests for marine applications, obtaining certifications from major global ship classification societies. Entered Japanese and Korean marine and offshore markets.
2012

"YingHua^®" products awarded "Shanghai Famous Products" title.

"YingHua^®" brand recognized as "Shanghai Famous Brand" title.
2013

Obtained FM certification.

The cupola production line at our Dafeng (Yancheng, Jiangsu) manufacturing base has been fully completed and put into operation.
2014

Marine fireproof rock wool passed A30 bulkhead and deck tests, certified by major global ship classification societies.

Launched third-generation hydroponic rock wool substrates.
2015

The electric furnace production line at our Dafeng (Yancheng, Jiangsu) manufacturing base has been fully completed and is now operational.

Achieved zero solid waste emissions.
2016

Officially adopted "UPuper^®" as the brand for hydroponic rock wool media of tomato, cucumber, sweet pepper and medical hemp planting.

Dafeng production base certified with Environmental Management System.
2017

"YingHua^®" brand awarded "Jiangsu Famous Brand."

Dafeng production base certified with Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
2018

Passed A60 sound-insulating floating floor tests for marine applications, certified by major global ship classification societies.
2019

Obtained UL certification.

Successfully registered the "UPuper^®" brand.
2020

Developed rock wool series for smoke control ducts and floating floors, and sugar-based formaldehyde-free binders.

Registered "SafeCurtain^®" as the brand for sugar-based formaldehyde-free rock wool.
2021

"SafeCurtain^®" sugar-based formaldehyde-free rock wool series received U.S. Clean Air GOLD Certification — the first in China’s insulation industry.
2024

"SafeCurtain^®" sugar-based formaldehyde-free rock wool products certified as "Shanghai Brand."

"UPuper^®" smart greenhouse completed and operational.
